NEW YORK – The Yankees look to take the series against the Rangers, sending Ryan Yarborough out against Jacob deGrom, and the Yankees got it done!

Injury Report:

Notes/Analysis:

  • FINAL: 4-3 NYY
    • WP: Weaver (1-1) 0.42
    • LP: Jackson (0-4) 5.52
  • Record: 29-19

  • Ryan Yarborough's Final Line:
    • 6.0 IP | 3 H | 1 R | 1 ER | 8 K | 0 BB | 81 P | 3.38 ERA
      • For a pitcher nobody expected to be a Yankee this year, Yarbs pitched great today, allowing just a solo shot over 5 innings of work.
  • The Yankees get some traffic in the first, but nothing across.
  • Volpe lead off the second inning with a Triple and scored on a groundout off the bat of DJ LeMahieu, making it 1-0 NYY Early
  • Jake Burger would tie the game in the fifth with a solo shot off Yarborough, making it 1-1.
  • Jonathan Loáisiga would retire 2 batters in the 6th inning, but a single, a walk (after a missed call by the HP Umpire, Alfonso Marquez), and a HBP loaded the bases with 2 outs. Tim Hill came on to get the final out of the inning and got Barnhart to ground out
  • Hill would then come on and surrender another Homer to Jake Burger, making it 2-1 Texas.
  • Hamilton came in and IMMEDIATELY gives up a Homer to Sam Haggerty, making it 3-1 Texas. That effectively ended the game.
    • Ian Hamilton has looked awful this season, surrendering 2 homers in the last 24 hours.
  • Cody Bellinger would lead off the seventh with a BOMB off deGrom, making it 3-2 Texas
  • After back-to-back walks from Goldschmidt and Grisham, Rice flies out and Judge hits an RBI single to tie the game at 3.
    • Really heads-up baserunning by Grisham getting in a rundown and allowing the run to score.
  • Boone tries to leave De Los Santos in for the top of the ninth, but he allows a leadoff single, forcing Boone to bring in Luke Weaver.
  • Weaver would get 3 outs, including a pickoff to end the inning
  • JASSON DOMINGUEZ HITS THE FIRST YANKEES WALK OFF HOME RUN SINCE 2022!
