π° Cookie Carrasco looked good today, giving up 1 run, a HR to Witt Jr. in 5 strong innings. The Yankee offense gave 4 runs, all solo shots, from Chisholm, Grisham, Wells, and Rice. Bullpen was very good, allowing 2 walks and 1 hit in 4 innings of work.

This is the kind of game that you dream of if your a Yankees fan. Carlos Carrasco gives you 5 innings of 1 run ball, you get a lead and turn it over to the bullpen and bam, the game is over.

Cookie looked really good after the 26-pitch first inning, in which he walked two. The walks have been a problem for the Yankees entire pitching staff, and the staff issued four walks today.
Fernando Cruz was FILTHY in the inning and a third he pitched. He continues to look sharp out of the bullpen.
Weaver and Williams are close to automatic in the eight and ninth, though it always gets sweaty in the ninth, but Williams is looking more and more comfortable after each appearance.
Four solo home runs powered the Yankees to victory tonight. Jazz, Grisham, Rice and Wells all showed power homering off Seth Lugo. YES network provided some stats about Lugo in his career against the Yankees, saying that Lugo had never allowed more than three homers in his career against the Yankees, and he did that in the fifth inning alone.
I want to end by shouting out Jasson Dominguez, who had 3 really good defensive plays in left today. The at-bats have been solid, but seeing this defense from Jasson on a consistent basis will help the Yankees sustain success in the long term.
When asked by reporters about his improved defense today, Dominguez said:
(SNY Yankees): "The more reps that I take, it feels more natural".
