Yanks avoid the Sweep vs DBacks!
Yanks are able to salvage Game 3 to avoid getting sweep
The Bronx, NY — The Yankees slug their way to avoiding the Sweep against the DBacks.
Some takeaways:
A Ben Rice bloop double and a Bellinger single set Aaron Judge up to do Aaron Judge things.
Then Jasson Dominguez (yes, the one all the fans are saying send down), singled and scored from First on a Trent Grisham double, making it 4 runs in the first.
Trent Grisham continued to show why he is in the lineup by crushing a 2-run Homer in the 3rd to make it 6-1
In the Bottom of the 4th, Ben Rice walks, then steels second, and scores on an Aaron Judge single
- Jazz then does it again and drives Judge in with a blast into the Judges Chambers
- Cooke Carrasco showed up and gave the Yankees a quality start to allow the offense to score some runs, and he actually looked solid

The Yankee bullpen continues to be a huge concern for the Bombers as Ryan Yarbrough imploads in the 7th inning, giving up a Grand Slam to cut the lead to 6-7.
Boone then made the decision to go to Luke Weaver with a man on and 2 outs in the 8th inning to get the 4-out save, and he gets 4 outs and looks like a god in the closer’s role.
Honorable Mentions:
- Jasson Dominguez had a 2-hit game, a single and a double and is batting .250 through 6 games (not bad)
- J.C. Escarra logged his first Major League hit last night
