Yankees Injury Report
This is an ongoing post for the Yankees Injury Report
Marcus Stroman:

- 15-Day IL
- Left-Knee inflammation.
- Gave up 5 runs before getting an out on April 11th.
- Marcus Stroman is still “feeling some things” in his knee, per Boone, so does not sound like it will just be a minimum stay on the IL.
DJ LeMahieu:

- 10-Day IL
- DJ has a low grade calf strain
- DJ had an MRI on March 4th
- DJ's MRI showed a Grade 1 or 2 calf strain, he said. While a precise return date remains unclear, he anticipates being sidelined from baseball activities for at least two weeks.
- DJ Will begin facing live pitching during the Week of April 13th. He will need a full Spring Training before Returning
Jonathan Loáisiga:

- 10-Day IL
- Jonathan Loáisiga is on the mend from right UCL surgery, which included an internal brace procedure on April 12, 2024. He's currently throwing from the mound (as of March 4th) and is expected to be back in action in late Late May, Early June.
- Loáisiga faced live batters for the first time this season.
- Loáisiga is expected to start his rehab assignment with Class-A Tampa on Saturday (04/25/25)
Giancarlo Stanton:

- 10-Day IL
- Stanton was diagnosed with tennis elbow in both elbows, an injury that has affected him since the middle of the 2024 season.
- Stanton progressed to taking some swings off a tee and will begin to face Live Pitching soon
- There is optimism Stanton could return in May
Scott Effross

- 15-Day IL
- Effross suffered a setback with his strained hamstring and remains in a holding pattern with his recovery, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
Gerrit Cole:

- 60-Day IL
- Gerrit Cole will undergo Tommy John Surgery on March 11th and will miss the 2025 season and part of the 2026 season. Read more about Gerrit Cole's injury below
Luis Gil:

- 60-Day IL
- Luis Gil reportedly had Shoulder Tightness during his Bullpen Session on February 28th.
- Aaron Boone announced that Gil will be on the IL to start the 2025 season with a right lat strain. He will be shut down for 6 weeks.
- The Yankees' latest MRI on Luis Gil, conducted in New York, reaffirmed the high-grade lat strain diagnosis and the required six-week rest period. According to Brian Cashman, Gil will be out for a minimum of three months.
- Gil suffered a minor setback, pushing back his throwing program for 10 days (Retro to April 16th)
Clayton Beeter:

RHP Clayton Beeter's right shoulder discomfort continues to sideline him. While he's throwing in side sessions, a specific date for his return to game action is yet to be determined. His expected return is still slated for march.
Jake Cousins:

- 60-Day IL
- Cousins was shut down, again from Left-Forearm strain
JT Brubaker:

During his spring debut on February 21st, Brubaker sustained three fractured ribs while trying to evade a comebacker. His return is to be determined.
