The Yankees activate INF Jazz Chisholm Jr. off the IL

NEW YORK – After being sidelined with a high-grade hamstring strain since April 29, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been activated from the injured list ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Cleveland Guardians.
Chisholm began a rehab assignment last Thursday in Somerset as he worked his way back. He was struggling at the plate prior to the injury, slashing .181/.304/.714 in the first month of the season. He exited a 15-3 win over the Orioles on April 29 in the first inning after hitting a double and advancing to third on an error.
The Yankees are expected to use Chisholm at third base while DJ LeMahieu remains at second. General manager Brian Cashman recently mentioned the club's interest in acquiring a right-handed infielder, noting that the market for second basemen is currently stronger than that for third basemen.
