The Comeback falls short yet again for the Yankees

New York – Yankees looked to take the Series at home against the Rays, sending Will Warren out to make the start, and he did not impress.
Injury Report:
- Clarke Schmidt was scratched from his scheduled start with Left Flank Soreness. He will make his next start on Tuesday vs. San Diego.
Notes/Analysis:
- FINAL: 7-5 TB
- WP : Bradley (3-2) 4.43
- LP : Warren (1-2) 5.65
- SV: Fairbanks (8)
- RECORD: 19-15 (1st, AL East)
- Yankees drop to 12-15 when Fried does not make the start.
- Warren did not have his stuff today. He gave up 5 runs, 3 earned over
- Warren gave up 3 hits with two strikes, being unable to put batteries away. (17-22 first pitch strikes).
- For the exception of a Bellinger Homer, the Yankees offense was anemic against Bradley, getting runners on base, but could not convert with RISP. The best example was the third inning, first and second, no outs: Judge GIDP and Bellinger Groundout. A wasted opportunity.
- Bellinger hit a 2-Run HR in the sixth inning to make it 5-2, but Carrasco loads the bases with no outs and Arranda hits a 2RBI single to make it 7-2.
- Goldschmidt drives in Judge on an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 7-3 in the eighth. Then, Vivas records his first MLB hit, a 2-run single, making it a 2-run game. Rice came in to pinch hit for Cabrera and he walks to set up first and second for Oswald Peraza who grounds out on the first pitch he sees.
- The Yankees went down in order against Fairbanks in the ninth.
- The 6-9 hitters in the Yankee lineup stunk. Frankly, it was insulting that those four hitters were all in the line up together. Pablo Reyes and Oswald Peraza should NOT be major leaguers, and Cabrera should not be a starter. A Cashman Special from this offseason.
- The best part of the game was Vivas pinch hitting for Reyes and beating out a double play. Reyes should not be on a major league team
- The Rays stole six bases yesterday, and stole 2 today. This was an issue last season, and is becoming an issue now - teams know they can run on the Yankees and change the outcome of innings, like it has the past two games.
- The Yankees dropped back-to-back series against division rivals who are under .500, something you just can't do.
- The Rays are 24-18 at Yankee Stadium since 2020
