Stroman lays another egg, and the Yankees lose

Takeaways from tonights game:

The Bronx, NY โ€” The Yankees begin their homestand with a massive disappointment.

LP: Stroman (0-10) 11.57

๐Ÿ“ฐ Stroman gave up 5 runs before recording an out, and did not survive the first inning. The Bullpen then gave up 3 in the 5th inning, 1 in the 6th inning. The Yankee offense was silenced once again (with some tough luck).

๐Ÿ“Š Record: 7-6

๐Ÿ“‰Streak: L1

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ : Saturday vs. SF (RHP Will Warren (0-0, 6.00) vs. RHP Jordan Hicks (1-0, 2.38))

Marcus Stroman stunk today to put it bluntly. On the first pitch of the game he gave up a double in the gap, and that started the outing, and it was ended by a walk. Ryan Yarbrough had to come in in the first inning because Stroman could not get out of the first.

Yarbrough actually pitched very well, giving a few innings of work to help save the bullpen.

And now we get to the Yankee offense. The Yankees offense was quiet, but also got unlucky. There were some deep flyouts, and this Austin Wells double that would have been out any other day.

The Yankee Defense was slick today as well, especially Volpe, who had a few sparklers in the hole, but the best play of the day was in the 4th inning, when the Yankees turned this 5-3-6 Double Play to get out of an inning:

The Game was called in the 6th inning due to rain. The perfect ending to a game like this.
