The Yankee Ace got the start today for the Yankees and looked sharp. The third inning gave him some trouble, surrendering a leadoff homer to M.J. Melendez and then a 2-out RBI double to Bobby Witt Jr. Luke Weaver came in with two on in the seventh inning and gets a ground out after two pitches. Weaver continued his dominance looking like the second coming of Mariano Rivera by sending Witt Jr., Pasquantino, and Perez down in order. Boone then handed the ball to closer Devin Williams who had his best outing as a Yankee, sending the Royals down 1-2-3, including striking out M.J. Melendez on the Airbender to end the game.

The Yankee offense was quiet off Wacha until the 6th inning where Judge leads off with an infield single, then with two outs Jazz and Volpe both walked to load the bases against Wacha. The Royals then went to Zerpa (who we remember from the ALDS spiking balls in the dirt with the bases loaded), who walked Wells to score a run, then Jasson Dominguez hit a bases-clearing double to give the Yankees the lead.
The Yankees take the series from the Royals and will send Clarke Schmidt out for the series Sweep.
