EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – The 2025 NY Giants schedule was released last night, and boy is it a gauntlet:

This schedule for the Giants stinks. According to insiders, they believe that the Giants have the worst "strength in schedule" in the NFL. I agree with them on this. The Giants schedule is tough, especially in a year when Schoen and Daboll are on the hot seat.

Below, I am breaking down my predictions, with reasons, on the games and record I believe the Giants will hold at the end of the year. With all this being said, this is a sport, things happen, like injuries or general underperformance by teams that could benefit the Giants, but without all of that, here are my predictions:

Week 1: @ WAS Commanders

    • WIN: For the Giants, it is important to win week 1, given how tough the first four weeks of their schedule are. I think that the Giants defense will be enough to counter the Commanders O-Line that is still very weak.

Week 2: @ DAL Cowboys

    • WIN: The Cowboys could start slowly in 2025. The Giants should be a much better team than the Cowboys in 2025. Dallas still boasts top-shelf star power, but their 2025 success hinges on an unproven coach, a rebuilt offensive interior, and a defense that cratered against the run last year. If The Giants squad can flip the trenches and keep the new Lamb-Pickens duo in front of them, Big Blue has a real shot to end the streak.

Week 3: vs. KC Chiefs (SNF)

    • LOSS: It's simple - Mahomes vs. Wilson. The Chiefs are just a better team then the Giants right now, though I could see an upset because of how good the Giant's defense should be.

Week 4: vs. LA Chargers

    • WIN: I think the Giants need to look at this matchup as a pivotal matchup because it's an opportunity to challenge a team with playoff aspirations and assess their own progress early in the season. I also think the Giants have enough to beat them in a tight game.

Week 5: @ NO Saints

    • WIN: The Saints are not going to be a good team in 2025, and is a team that the Giants should beat, even if it's on the road.

Week 6: vs. PHI Eagles (TNF)

    • WIN: Of the two games the Giants will play against the defending champs, it would be easier for the Giants to beat them at home, rather than on the road.

Week 7: @ DEN Broncos

    • LOSS: This game will be a test for both teams, with the Broncos' defense, led by Surtain II and Hufanga, challenging the Giants' offense, which will not be as strong as their defense. On the other hand, the Giants' defense will need to contain Bo Nix and his array of weapons, including Engram and Sutton, which will be a tough test for the

Week 8: @ PHI Eagles

    • LOSS: The Eagles are not getting swept by the Giants, they are just too good, and I think being in their building will play a factor in how well the Birds play against the Giants.

Week 9: vs. SF 49ers

    • WIN: the niners were not great in 2024, and I don't think they got much better this offseason. Having Salah back will help their defense, but I think the Giants defense will be good enough to counteract that. I also think since these are both defensive run teams, it will be a low-scoring affair.

Week 10: @ CHC Bears

    • LOSS: The Bears are going to be a good and will have an infusion of youth. I think their defense is going to be very good, and even though the Giants defense is going to be good, I don't think their offense is going to be strong enough to get past a borderline elite defense like the Bears, especially on the road.

Week 11: vs. GB Packers

    • LOSS: When facing the Packers, the Giants' defense will need to be pretty much on point given how good the Packers offense will be. The Giants' defense will need to account for the deep-threat capabilities of receivers like Christian Watson and the newly added Matthew Golden, as well as Containing Josh Jacobs will be crucial to limit the Packers' ground game. The Giants offense will have an opportunity to expose a week Packers secondary in 2025. If the Giants can score some points, this could be an upset, but I think the Packers are just better.

Week 12: @ DET Lions

    • LOSS: The Lions' high-powered offense, led by Goff and St. Brown, will challenge the Giants' secondary. Conversely, the Giants' defense will need to contain Hutchinson and the Lions' pass rush to protect their quarterback. This matchup will be tough for the Giants and I think the Lions are just better up and down than the Giants.

Week 13: @ NE Patriots (MNF)

    • WIN: I think the Giants can beat the Pats, but it will be a tough test on the Defense. The Giants defense will be strong this season and could counteract a strong Patriots Defense. A really good defense could spook a young QB like the Pats have. The Giants offense will need to be able to put up some points and know that your Defense will be able

Week 14: BYE

    • Record at the BYE: 7-6

Week 15: vs. WAS Commanders

    • LOSS: The Commanders are going to be a good team, but I don't see the Giants sweeping the Commanders. Obviously, the Giants defense is better than the Commanders O-Line, but I think that the Commanders O-Line will make adjustments based on the results of Week 1. I could also see this becoming an upset.

Week 16: vs. MIN Vikings

    • WIN: For the Giants, facing the Vikings in 2025 presents an opportunity to challenge a team in transition, particularly with a relatively inexperienced quarterback at the helm. Capitalizing on McCarthy's adjustment period and testing the cohesion of Minnesota's revamped defense could be key strategies for the Giants to win this game. The Giants defense should be strong enough to stave off the Vikings developing offense.

Week 17: @ LV Raiders

    • LOSS: Geno Smith's experience against the Giants' defense will be a focal point. The Giants' offensive line will need to contend with Raiders' pass rusher Maxx Crosby, and I don't know how strong the Giants offense will be, especially on the road late in the season (why I have this a loss). The Giants' secondary will also be tested by the Raiders' revamped receiving corps, including rookies Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton.

Week 18: vs. DAL Cowboys

    • WIN: As I mentioned in my Week 2 prediction, Dallas still boasts top-shelf star power, but their 2025 success hinges on an unproven coach, a rebuilt offensive interior, and a defense that cratered against the run last year. The Giants will have an easier chance of beating the Cowboys at home, but the Giants are better than the Cowboys and if they are looking to be postseason contenders, they need to beat teams they need to beat.

Final Record: 9-8

The Giants will have a tough road to improvement from where they were in 2024, but the huge improvements on defense and improvements in the QB room from where they were beginning 2024, will be enough to get to a winning record in 2025, and quite possibly, a playoff spot.
