Could that be the Spark?

New York – Yankees came into today looking to snap a 3-game losing streak, their longest of 2025, and they did that, in a GRAND way.
Injury Report:
- Giancarlo Stanton faced live pitching for the first time today, and could be activated off the 60-Day IL by the end of May if all goes well
Notes/Analysis:
- FINAL: 12-3 NYY
- WP: Cruz (1-0) 1.37
- LP: Morejon (1-1) 3.57
- Schmidt possibly had his best outing of the year today:
- 6.0 IP | 7 H | 2 ER | 4 K | 1 BB | 85 P | 53 S | 4.79 ERA
- Rice gets the first hit off King, but is stranded at third in the First.
- Dominguez draws a walk but a Volpe strikeout and a Wells GIDP erased that.
- I don't understand why Dominguez was not running in that situation to get into scoring position with less than 2 outs.
- Schmidt opens the 4th by allowing back-to-back hits, then a 1-out walk, then apparently balked in a run and gave up a sac fly. Padres grabbed the 2-0 lead.

- The Yankees come right back and tie it up on a Judge HR , a Bellinger walk and a Dominguez single that caused the Padres to throw the ball away and allow Bellinger to score, tying the game in the 4th at 2-2.
- Schmidt has a nice shutdown inning, including a pickoff of Tyler Wade at first and a strikeout of Luis Arraez, who is very hard to strike out.
- The Yankees go down 1-2-3 in the sixth inning
- In seventh, Hill allows 2 hits and gets just 1 out. Cruz comes on and allows a hit and a walk, allowing the Padres to take a 3-2 lead
- The Yankees put up a statement in the bottom of the 7th inning, scoring 10 runs off the Padres bullpen (both teams with Bullpen implosions this series).
- Here is how it went:
- (R) Dominguez double
- (R) Volpe Single
- (L) Wells RBI Single (3-3)
- (R) Cabrera pop-up Bunt (1 out)
- (R) Goldschmidt Walk
- (L) Grisham RBI Walk (4-3 NYY)
- (L) Rice 2-RBI Double (6-3 NYY)
- (R) Judge Intentional Walk
- (L) Bellinger RBI Single (7-3)
- (R) Dominguez Flyout (2 out)
- (R) Volpe RBI Single (8-3 NYY)
- (L) Austin Wells Grand Slam (12-3 NYY)
- (R) Cabrera Groundout (3 out)
- The Yankees Bullpen locked it down for the Win!
- Peraza did have an error on a simple ground ball
