Clarke Schmidt Scratched

New York -- As I am getting to the train station to head to the BX this morning, The Yankees release the lineup and Clarke Schmidt was scratched from his scheduled start.
When asked by reportes, Schmidt said that it is "left flank soreness", that he wanted to pitch, but the Yankees are pushing him back to Tuesday vs. San Diego. (the conspiracy theorist in me believes there is more to this decision).
Clarke Schmidt won’t start today because of left flank soreness, he said. Schmidt insisted that he’s OK, though. Wanted to pitch today. Wont be an IL stint. #Yankees just wanted to give him an extra few days and the plan is for him to start next on Tuesday.

Ryan Yarbrough will make the start against his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.
